  • The energy sector is a large and significant business and employment cluster for Northumberland, concentrated in Blyth.

    The sector in Blyth currently comprises 115 businesses accounting for 43% of all energy sector businesses in South East Northumberland. Making Blyth the perfect location to home the Energy Central Campus.

  • The UK's Clean Energy Sector faces a significant future skills shortage.

    It is anticipated that 72,000 new jobs will be required within the Offshore Wind sector by 2030.

  • Energy Central Campus will play a key role in developing the clean energy workforce of the future.

    The Energy Central Campus target of 800+ learners per annum undertaking formal qualifications will support the regional talent pipeline.

Our course providers

Energy Central Campus partners with renowned organisations to offer courses to young people and professionals in the energy industry. Together, these partners ensure that our students receive the highest quality training and education to advance their careers in clean technology.

  • Engineering focused T-Levels developed in collaboration with employers and education providers. T-Levels are a two-year qualification that can be studied as an alternative to A-levels, other post-16 courses or apprenticeships for 16 to 19 year olds. Minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, grade 5 required in Maths.

  • Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship for school leavers. Minimum of three GCSEs at grade 3 or above required.

  • Port Training Services (PTS) is a specialist training provider delivering fully accredited, industry recognised qualifications for companies and individuals serving the Port & Marine, Warehousing & Logistics, Heavy Industry, Subsea and Offshore Energy sectors. Part time and full-time qualifications available for both adults and school leavers.
