We recently interviewed Paul Valentine, Head of Operations at the Energy Central Learning Hub (ECLH), to find out more about what is involved in his role as part of the Energy Central Campus (ECC) Team.

  1. What is involved in your role?

    My role mainly involves overseeing the smooth operation of the ECLH. I’m focused on making sure we hit our objectives while working closely with our employer and training partners. Together, we’re creating a unique learning environment that directly links participants to job opportunities in the clean energy sector.

  2. What made you join the ECC Team?

    I couldn’t pass up the chance to join such a rare and exciting opportunity. Being part of a team that's driving a trailblazing initiative, offering great educational opportunities in a busy industrial hub, and helping grow the clean energy sector — it all just really appealed to me.

  3. How does your professional background support you in this role?

    My background has given me a lot of operational management experience, which is really important for my role at ECC. Having worked in both further and higher education, I’ve gained a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities in these sectors. This experience will help me develop a strategy that directly supports ECC in meeting its goals.

  4. What is your favourite part about the role & what are you most looking forward to in this role?

    I really enjoy working with such positive and passionate people who are all dedicated to making ECC a huge success. I’m excited to see our learners get engaged, grow, and become the next generation of clean energy workers.
