Q1: Tell us about the new Energy Central Learning Hub
The Energy Central Learning Hub at the Port of Blyth is a cutting-edge facility dedicated to advanced manufacturing and renewable energy education. It's strategically located in the heart of the North East’s power engineering sector, offering students practical, industry-relevant training.
We have brand new classrooms and workshops at the Energy Central Learning Hub, kitted out with state-of-the art equipment to deliver training for school leavers who want to succeed in an engineering career. Led by lecturers with a wealth of expertise and industry experience, studying with us is a step up from school life into preparation for the real world of work to gain the skills that employers are looking for.
Q2: What can school leavers study at the Northumberland Skills’ new campus within the Energy Central Learning Hub?
We provide courses in advanced manufacturing, renewable energy and related fields. Our new programme starting in September covers essential skills like complying with safety regulations, using technical information, maintaining electrical systems, and more.
